Buzz60, an internet television channel, was created by former television news reporters Tim Minton and Jay DeDapper, along with Philip O’Brien one of founders of NY1 and long-time manager at CNN, CBS, NBC and Fox and Steve Bradbury, former VP, Content Strategy & Business Affairs for GoTV Networks. The parent company or “network” is Zazoom Video. Buzz60 creates 60 second takes on the trending news of the day. Rock Paper Pixel developed the brand which needed to evoke the fun, exciting nature as well as the speed of the delivery. The website was key in that it was a tent pole for the brand and needed to look different and innovative. We worked in conjunction with our main developer Knectar to create a thumbnail navigation with a “viewer” overlay. The aim is to provide a fun way to browse video. Buzz60 is now verging on a total of 10-15 million views a month via their wide-distribution partner model . www.buzz60.com
In addition to their own site, Buzz60 distributes their video through a syndication model across the network via various partners. One such partner is YouTube. Rockpaperpixel creates and maintains Buzz60’s YouTube channel.
